came along and gave us a demonstration of
Tai Chi for Fitness, Health & Self Defence.

November 2018 Meeting

Sue Ward and her helper, Sue, came along with a jewellery stall with items to sell and also beads so that we could all make a three-strand bracelet during the evening.

April 2018 Meeting

Kate Willis came along and gave a talk on
OLD CURES & REMEDIES
and to be quite frank, the cure was often worse than the ailments suffered...!!!
"Kate tending to Helen's health problems..."

March 2018 Meeting

Adrian McGlynn
spoke about the breeding of thoroughbred horses and how they have recorded a horse's pedigree since the 1700s.
Also the naming of race horses and the lengths some owners go to when choosing names, and how careful Wetherby's has to be as some names are not what they seem...!

February 2018 Meeting

Our guest speaker this month was Terry Penny who enlightened us on the subject of...
The Stories Behind Nursery Rhymes
which took us back through time and was something of a History Lesson.
As per usual, we rounded off the evening with yet another splendid buffet provided by all our Members.

January 2018

#
A very informative talk given by
HELEN  FROST
and nearly all our members didn't realise that the Women's Land Army was actually formed
in the first World War.
Also that their uniform could be purchased from Harrods and other such high-end stores...!!!

November Meeting...

... an evening of Card Making brought to us by
Susan Ward & Sue

August Evening...

How very kind of Barbara to have opened her home his Month for

As you will see we had a lovely time although the weather could have been a little kinder to us...

June 2017 Meeting

Our Speaker this month was Debbie Horseman who gave us a very interesting and informative talk on
SHACKLETON'S FORGOTTEN MEN.
The leader of Shackleton's Support Group was an Ancestor of Debbie's.
She told of the bravery of this Support Group and brought along Memorabilia collected by her family.
Once again, the evening was rounded off with one of our ever popular Buffet Suppers... and what a spread there was...!!!

May Meeting

This was very well attended as we had a Speaker from WI House and the topics discussed were taken from the 2017 Resolutions

&

April Meeting - Northampton Guildhall

Katherine Wills gave an excellent talk on the History of the Northampton Guildhall...  She had  slides of the original plans and drawings also photos of the interior.
She also talked and explained about the meaning of the carvings on the outside of the building. She made it very interesting and at times funny.

March Meeting - The Little Smokehouse

Keith Meredith was our speaker and we had a very interesting meeting.
Even more interesting is the fact that the little smokehouse is no more than a small garden shed at the bottom of the garden.
On the plus side, we could all have a taste of the cheeses that he smoked and, of course, couldn't resist purchasing some to take home.

January 2017 Meeting

This month Malcolm Lupson, Chiropodist, came along and gave us a talk on how to look after our feet and the joys, or sometimes not, of being a Chiropodist!!!
Also, a few of our ladies were lucky enough to have expert knowledge and treatment for their feet.

Nov. Meeting ...

This month's theme was Christmas Treats and our Treasurer started the evening off by distributing her home made Irish Cream Liquer...

We then sampled the Treats and Sweetmeats...
...And there were LOTS of them...
... later washed down with Kate's Mulled Wine...
As usual, an excellent evening - enjoyed by all - even if when we got home, we had to look out the GAVISCON...!!!

AGM

October Meeting included the AGM and afterwards we entertained ourselves by organising a Beetle Drive.
This became very rowdy at times as the excitement of winning took hold...!!!
As usual, the evening was rounded up with a fabulous supper - each Member bringing along a small plate of food.

Passionate about Pasta

Who knew it would be soooo easy to make Pasta - or so it seemed when demonstrated by
BARBARA EVEREST of
Mama's Handmade Pasta, Northampton
Barbara showed how you can make and flavour pasta with almost anything.  She is seen here demonstrating pasta made with the addition of spinach to give the green colour...
She brought along some dessert pasta she had made earlier - flavoured with chocolate.
As you can see by the expression on Elaine's face...  it had a distinct chocolate aroma!!!
Barbara also brought with her several bags of different coloured/flavoured pasta from marigold leaves to beetroot, which we could purchase.
All in all... a very informative evening.

June Meeting

Fiona Able-Smith
demonstrated.....
and what an enthralling evening it was... such a talented lady...!!!
After the demonstration, our Members were encouraged to have a go...
Fiona also brought along with her some of her beautifully made work...
